Mr. Obama,
I wish I could join you on this historic inauguration. I am so proud of our country for electing you as their president! I just wanted to wish my personal congratulations on the election and I wanted to write to you today just to say that I am looking forward to your presidency and what it means for most US citizens that desire change.
Sir, I believe that the reason people voted for you was because they see you as someone that is not just a politician, but a person that cares for them, they believe that you are more than a politician, and you will do your best to stand up for what is right.
Mr. Obama, because what is right is ALWAYS right, I pray that you will find the side of right and stand firm, whatever way the political wind may blow. This is the president that I believe the People voted for.
May I humbly ask that you, as our next president, will specifically call our entire nation to become a people of prayer.
I believe that you have heard of and are well aware of this bible verse, I would still like to quote it:
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
I also ask that you would declare this verse as our NATIONAL VISION. I believe that having this bible verse as our NEW NATIONAL VISION would put a new mindset in the people of this country. A call for prayer like our nation has never before seen could drastically change our nation and have a long lasting, positive effect.
Our Founding Fathers & the Continental Congress proclaimed thanksgivings and days of fasting and humiliation twice a year from at least 1776 to 1783.
The state governments did it constantly. Jefferson, when he was governor of Virginia also proclaimed a day.
Washington proclaimed one, too. He was requested by Congress to proclaim a thanksgiving at the end of the first session of Federal Congress in 1789.
While it is clear that the government shall not make an established “Religion” we are clearly a nation that was built on principles that are proclaimed through a biblical perspective.
Yes Thanksgiving is upon us and it was and still is a great thing that our Republic did to establish a national day of Thanksgiving…However, I would like to call on you as president to announce several days throughout each year of your presidency, DAYS OF THANKSGIVING, PRAYER, AND REPENTANCE, and that you too as a Christian person would take the lead in your home being our example for our nation.
As a firm believer in Gods sovereignty over all nations of the earth, I believe that we desperately need this in our leader. I also believe it will greatly inspire more hope that God can help our nation become more abundant and prosperous.
So that our nation can become known as the NATION THAT FEARS THE LORD, and can also continue to champion freedom, and provide hope to the TIRED,THE POOR, AND THE HUDDLED MASSES….Because they will see that the UNITED STATES cares, as we always have, in truth; because they have a GOD THAT CARES FOR THEM.
Together with GOD “WE CAN” overcome this struggling economy. This GREAT NATION CAN TURN BACK TO THE GREAT GOD that guided the many GREAT MEN that founded it.
Thank you for reading this…and I thank you for putting God first and loving this great nation.
And remember that I and countless thousands of believers are praying for you each and everyday.
May the God of all creation, and the father of our LORD Jesus bless you, and lead you each day….
AMEN!
PS: I also wanted to remind you of the words of BENJAMIN FRANKLIN who said, “I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth—that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?”
This empire has been placed in your care…..Please care for it as unto the LORD.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;. Colossians 3:23
